Not automatically detecting mobile and/or iPhone versions of sites; Am I missing something? For example browsing to www.cnn.com would open its regular page not mobile version.

I am unable to run Iphone drift on my Xp Computer.

Hi there..if i try to run iphone drift under xp it crashes right away..could you please fix that?
I get this message all the time:
"iPhone Drift has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

Tried under xp 32bit and xp 64bit.

@Abhi: What exactly is the problem? Please specify any error messages if possible.

@morgoth: We have not heard of this issue occuring before. Is there an error message at all? Try upgrading to the latest .NET Framework, hopefully that will fix the crashing:)

Hello, very nice design, but it is not what i was expecting, what i see throught the browser is the same than trought Internet explorer.
And it not what supposed to hapen, should be redirecte to light page.
I wanted to use it to test my website but it is usless…
i Have an iPhone so i can see the diffrence.
If someone know something else ?
I am not looking for something Fancy, but something that can help to build website cross browser.

Thanks:) Yes, unfortunately iPhone Drift will currently not load the 'mobile' version of sites, this is an issue which will hopefully be rectified in later releases. The only thing i can recommend which will give you a perfect view of how your site will look on an iPhone is a real iPhone!:)

Great to hear:) If you're interested, the app you linked to actually doesn't show pages in the correct iPhone resolution, whether this is a bug or just overlooked by the developers I'm not sure. It also requires Safari and Flash to be installed, which I imagine would be annoying for many users.

Thanks for the response. I kind of assumed that it would be impossible to change. For something you might work on in the future, you could have the download be a folder containing the iPhone Drift executable and an ini to save the changes to the homepage. By definition, it would still be portable because it would not write to the registry.

And I am liking it.

Just testing it, and the browser part does not render a webapp properly.
I'm using the examples from the book "building iphone apps" from O'reilly, and when the CSS is changed to render a drop shadow from the title, and add a gradient, it is not shown…
