I'm a user of Windows XP, and like many other people, I hate it's GUI.
I'm currently customizing my system to be like Windows 7, and unfortunately one thing you can never change is the quality, imagination and feel of free applications.

I must commend your work on PaintRibbon! Despite the fact that the program is still in an early stage,
the responsiveness and reliability is top-notch.

I'm extremely excited about the future of PaintRibbon, it could mark the start of high-quality, fully functional and beautiful free apps.

Personally, PaintRibbon will soon be an excellent for the outdated MSPaint of XP And Vista.

The error occurs because at the moment PaintRibbon can only open .pic image files, trying to open any others will give this error.

I'm using PaintRibbon on Vista Ultimate x64. Every image type I try to open with it, I get an error message. There is an error in XML document (1,1). Show internal error?

That would be very strange, the file is hosted on cnet download.com so it should be fine in any country. Here is another link for you.

However I'm unable to paste thing from my print screen but I'm able to do so in windows paint.

Currently the brush tool is not supported in PaintRibbon. If you are after more features, check out PaintRibbon Complete, which will be released very soon. Thanks!

The 'problems' you have outlined aren't actually issues, those functions simply aren't available in these very early releases of paintribbon. It is after all only version 0.1.5!
You can't currently paste into paintribbon, and the only usable buttons are those outlined on the paintribbon page:)

Can you draw shapes and lines in different colours and open and save .pic files?

It doesn't work at all. I press the buttons and…nothing.
I can not paste (after the Print Screen), open or anything else.
I have .net 2.0 and 3.0 with Service Packs.
I'm using the PC (Win XP SP3 and all the updates) as Admin.

It works now.

This was an issue with some users computers, however it should now be fully rectified in version 0.1.5.

Download paintribbon from the Aviassin page and not from other sites!:) The program was just updated to fix that issue and its not yet available on softpedia, download.com etc. You'll see its been updated to 0.1.5 but other sites still only have 0.1.

Just click the download link on the Aviassin paintribbon page:)
