wrong.. but i cann see what u are saying…
it will reapear as "autohide" when u get a notification on you taskbar but before that its not accesible…
u can disable win7 notifications to keep it hidden (i dont need it works fine with me…)

This thing is no different than Win7's "Autohide".

does the Restrict Acces custom build only make the taskbar invisible or does it also disable the start menu access (win-key and ctrl+esc)??

I purchase this product Order AVI111109-6576-77109 Taskbar eliminator.
The program runs OK if it starts after Wnd 7 started completely .I put a short cut in Wnd 7 startup in order to start the program automatically and things goes wrong ,the task bar pops up with the Start menu hidden , but if you click where the Start button is suposed to be , it works and you can access every thing in windows. I also tried running the program without a short cut ( the program directly in startup Wnd 7 seccion) , but the same happens

Win 7.

The Alt+t and ctrl+alt+t hotkeys worked the very first time I used them but after that all I'm getting is a ping. Also, the Start button on the taskbar has gone.

Any ideas how to fix this? Can TE be uninstalled?

Basically, I have the program working the exact way I want it to - when windows starts up, taskbar is not there. I actually have disabled my windows key on my keyboard as well, so if you don't know the hotkey/shortcut, you can't access anything on my computer. but I start up my computer, everything is working great, and then, after five or so minutes it just quits working. I roll the mouse down to the bottom and the taskbar pops up. Any ideas?

I've used this program with no problems for about 18 months on Windows XP.
Now I've switched to Windows 7, and I have a problem. Everytime I start Task Manager or some other programs, the taskbar switches to Autohide, causing it to show up when I mouse over it.
Do you have any sort of solution?

Hi,

I just wanted to tell you that I love your taskbar eliminator software! You are the last resource to all pro users that value each pixel on the screen. Since M$ removed the "always on top" feature from the taskbar in W7 (it is turned ON by default and cannot be turned OFF), there were many discussions that eventually led to a hack that saved the day for millions, including myself (http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/54842-taskbar-always-top-disable-enable.html). Unfortunately, that hack stopped working after SP1. That is when i started searching for a solution and I have found your software, that saved the day again.

I hope you don't mind me making a request/idea for you - if your hotkeys could at least resemble the standard Windows combination for invoking the start menu together with start bar (control+escape) and provide a similar use case (unhide the taskbar together with popping start menu), imho that would be awesome. You could provide back for the community what M$ took away in W7 completely.

Hi, I'm currently using your latest version as of this post (2.9) and Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

I really like this tweaking app. It's well thought out and works quite well.

I'm just wondering if it is at all possible to make it not resize the active desktop area (right now it expands and squishes the desktop icons every time you hide and show the taskbar) by having a setting that keeps entire desktop area fully usable by the desktop icons and any open windows if it is enabled.

This would also get rid of windows remaining squished after showing and hiding the taskbar.

If I use the built-in auto-hide this doesn't occur, but then I have that single pixel tall top portion of the taskbar peeking out at the bottom of the screen and the taskbar notifications make the taskbar appear. Both of which are annoying and are the reasons why I installed Taskbar Eliminator.

I like being able to toggle the taskbar on and off, so the custom builds don't fulfill my needs unfortunately.

Thanks for reading. I really hope you can address this behavior through some means or another. It would make Taskbar Eliminator perfect.

I've used this for about 6 months now, and always had the problem in Windows 7 where anything with an alert of any kind on it causes the task bar to reappear. Quite annoying, and kills the whole purpose at time as the eliminator is supposed to simplify and cause less distraction, but when it pops up it is even more distracting. For an example, I use a program called Pomodairo to time my (http://code.google.com/p/pomodairo/) and every time the timer goes off, up comes the taskbar. It should make the problem very easy to reproduce for developers, not sure why this is so difficult to fix. I'd gladly pay the $10 for the custom build, if only it would work.

UNFORTUNATELY … i have the same problem :(
using version 2.9

every time some new icon is showing up in the tray, the taskbar is coming back.
f.e.: when i start microsoft outlook (which creates an icon in the tray).

hope you can fix it.
