Hi Rockit,

I'm not aware of any specific tweak which will resize the start menu, but there are lots of start menu replacements on the web. Here is one example, but there are many more - a quick google will find lots.

Good Luck!

Has anyone been able to shorten the height of Windows 7 Start Menu without having to patch and install a new theme?

I believe this would be a great tweak or tool to have that Microsoft left out of Win 7.

If you know how to do this or can make a tool or explain a tweak it would be greatly appreciated.

If not could you please suggest where I can request such a tool or tweak?

Thanks Allot

Hi Solovei95,

Absolutely, and its something we are looking to do in the future. At the moment though, we're busy working on PaintRibbon Complete, you should check it out! Once that is released, we'll begin looking into other projects (such as a Wordpad Ribbon).

Thanks! :)

Hi Charles,

The Ribbon for PaintRibbon is custom-built by Aviassin - which means you won't be able to find it anywhere else. It is also not an open source program, so we aren't distributing code at the moment. Good luck anyway!

Hi, I'm a program developer, like you. I'm going to cut the chase, I have tried everything I can think of, I can not figure out how to make a theme for my program to look like the new windows programs for Windows 7. I was hoping you and your team could help me by allowing me to use the theme you used for Paint Ribbon, or by pointing me in the right direction.

I would highly appreciate it, if you think we could make this work somehow please let me know. You can contact me at ccr05@live.com.

Thank you,
Charles
CR Developments

Hi,

Okay, so is there a problem with Taskbar Eliminator when it is run from a terminal services account?(i.e the taskbar shows unexpectedly or anything). If not, you can look at one of our Custom Builds, which offer fully restricted access the taskbar and start menu - and disable keyboard shorcuts.

Thanks!

I need a way to prevent terminal services users from accessing the taskbar in any way. They should run the single program that they are authorized to run at login but not be able to do anything else. Not even Ctrl-Alt-T to bring up your program. Having your eliminator in their login script/batch just prior to executing their authorized program would be great. I need this to comply with my security audit. As an old coder myself I'm very impressed with your work.
